Take Your Child to Work Day 2013 April 26, 2013

Amanda Oliva spent the day at Digital Cut for Take Your Child to Work Day. She decided to produce her own video. I mean…how hard could it be…right? Amanda found out that production is a lot of work. She wrote her own script, shot most of the video and roughed out the edit.  And while we may be biased, we believe she did a great job behind and in front of the camera.  She’s a natural!

On the fourth Thursday of each April, more than 37 million Americans at over 3.5 million workplaces participate in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Yesterday, April 26, marked the program’s twentieth anniversary. Originally called the Take Our Daughters to Work Program, the concept was created in response to research that found many girls lacked confidence and were dropping out of school by the eighth grade.  Ten years later the name was changed to ‘‘Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work’’ so that boys, who are subject to many of the same problems, could also participate. For Digital Cut Productions it’s one of our favorite days of the year and we end up learning just as much as our children do.
